Using the Seam & Stitch Manager

The Seam & Stitch Manager allows you to make 3D content look more realistic and saves content creation time.

Seams refer to the way two pieces overlap when connected to each other. Stitches represent the shape of the thread that sews the pieces together.

Optitex offers a library of presets. A preset is a combination of components which includes: Seam/Stitch/Trim/Accessories using defined attributes.

You can either use one of the existing presets, create a custom preset, or assign components without using a preset.

There are four different ways to apply visual stitches:

  1. Use Predefined Preset - Select a predefined preset (Optitex offers a library of presets), or select a custom preset.

  2. Create Custom Preset - Create and define different components and then save as a custom preset (to be reused).

  3. Use Components without Using a Preset -Add stitches/trims/accessories and define attributes, then Apply to the stitch (without saving as a preset).

  4. Apply Preset via 3D Properties - Select a preset via the 3D Properties Stitch dialog without having to open the Seam & Stitch Manager.

Once you have created components you can then assign shaders to the components. For more information, see Assigning Shaders To Components.
