Fabric Wizard: Physical Properties overview

The Physical Properties page provides you with the display of finally calculated physical properties.

The page provides you with following fabric properties:

ClosedBasic Properties

This group provides the following basic properties of the fabric:

Field

Description

Thickness

This field provides the fabric thickness defined using the Weight & Thickness page of the Fabric Wizard.

Weight

This field provides the value of the Weight per Unit Area property defined using the Weight & Thickness page of the Fabric Wizard.

ClosedBending

This group provides the following bending properties of the fabric:

Field

Description

Warp (X)

This field provides the value of bending (also known as stiffness or flexural rigidity) calculated for the warp fabric direction using the bending test raw measurement data.

Weft (Y)

This field provides the value of bending (also known as stiffness or flexural rigidity) calculated for the weft fabric direction using the bending test raw measurement data.

ClosedStretch and Shear

This group provides the following stretch properties of the fabric:

Field

Description

Warp (X)

This field provides the value of stretching (the ability of fabric to resist stretching deformations) calculated for the warp fabric direction using the stretch test raw measurement data.

Weft (Y)

This field provides the value of stretching (the ability of fabric to resist stretching deformations) calculated for the weft fabric direction using the stretch test raw measurement data.

Shear

This field provides you with the value of stretching (the ability of fabric to resist stretching deformations) calculated for the bias fabric direction using the stretch test raw measurement data.

ClosedFriction

This field provides the possibility to specify the fabric's friction. The slider allows you to adjust the coefficient of friction (COF) in the range of 0.05 (smooth and napless fabric) — 0.95 (rough  fabric)
