Measure Fabric Weight

Important:

• Use the circular specimen for the weight per unit area testing. To prepare specimen, use the GSM cutter supplied as a part of the FTU.

• The digital scale used for the fabric weighing should be calibrated prior to the testing. The calibration provides you with reliable accuracy for measurements.

• Make sure that the scale provides you with the measurement results using gram units.

To perform the test:

1. Choose the Circular option and make sure that value of 100 cm2 is set in the Sample Area edit box.

2. Turn on the scale and put the circular specimen on the plate.

2. Once the result of weight measurement is obtained, enter the measurement result in the Weight edit box.

3. When the measured value is entered, the value of the Weight per Unit Area property is automatically calculated and displayed.
