GPU Simulation Important Information
Important information regarding GPU simulation, Tips & tricks, Known issues & more
Note:
-
GPU Simulation always shows the active colorway.
-
In the active colorway, sometimes textures and transparency may still not display well.
-
You will be able to switch colorways after the GPU simulation is closed.
-
-
Some rigid parts (e.g., buttons) may not be displayed correctly or at all in the GPU simulation window.
-
The last simulation engine used (CPU/GPU), is saved within the PDS file. It will be used the next time the file is opened.
-
With GPU simulation, the result is automatically smoothed.
-
When you close the GPU mode , the simulation result appears automatically in the regular PDS-3D window.it is passed back to the regular working mode.
-
OpenGL and HQR show the simulation result without smoothing.
-
Switch to PRR to get the smoothed result, as presented in the GPU mode.
-
Simulation Settings for Apparel/Bags
Gravity is set automatically according to the scene content.
If there is no avatar, or the avatar height is less than 75 cm the simulation will run with no gravity.
Tips & tricks
-
GPU Simulation is sensitive to initial collisions between pieces.
-
Try to prevent initial collisions if possible.
-
-
Try to prevent initial positioning when stitches cross pieces and stitches if possible.
-
Switching between poses in the Model & Simulation dialog is not supported in GPU mode.
-
Select the required pose before starting the GPU simulation.
-
-
Sometimes button stitches are not closing properly, they are closed back-to-back.
-
Better initial positioning and/or the adjust tool, can help to get the desired result.
-
Known Issues
-
Simulation may be too stretchy.
-
Pleats & Dart-Pleats may not look good enough in some cases
-
The floor is not available.
-
Only one instance of GPS can run GPU simulation.
-
GPU simulation cannot be used if an instance of version O/22 is running:
-
Close all version O/22 instances to be able to use GPU simulation.
-
This will be fixed for the next version.
-
Currently not supported with GPU simulation
-
Pressure.
-
Puffy jackets.
-
Stitches do not follow the A over B / No Seam. Instead, Center is applied.
-
Stitch “Rigidity” and “Edge force"
