Copy Piece as Closed Internal

You can use the Copy Piece as Closed Internal tool when you want to create a copy of a piece and have it act as closed internal. This creates a copy of the entire piece inside the original piece. If the piece contains internals, they will not be copied, use Copy Piece as Closed Internal with Internals instead.

Note: This tool is only enabled when a piece is over a piece.

• Menu: Design > Internal to Piece/ Piece to Internal > Copy Piece as Closed Internal

To use the Copy Piece as Closed Internal tool:

1. Open a PDS pattern that contains two pieces that are overlapping:
   
   

2. From the main menu, go to Design > Internal to Piece/ Piece to Internal > Copy Piece as Closed Internal.
   
   The piece is copied and appears as a closed internal in the original piece:
   
   

3. If you move the piece, you can see it still appears as a separate piece, as well as a copied closed internal:
