Copy Piece as Closed Internal with Internals

You can use the Copy Piece as Closed Internal with Internals tool when you want to create a copy of a piece and have it act as closed internal while copying the internals as well. This creates a copy of the entire piece inside the original piece.

Note: This tool is only enabled when a piece is over a piece.

Icon & Location

• Menu: Design > Internal to Piece/ Piece to Internal > Copy Piece as Closed Internal with Internals

To use the Copy Piece as Closed Internal with Internals tool:

1. Open a PDS pattern that contains two pieces that are overlapping:
   
   

2. From the main menu, go to Design > Internal to Piece/ Piece to Internal > Copy Piece as Closed Internal with Internals
   
   The piece is copied with the internal elements and appears as a closed internal in the original piece:
   
   

3. If you move the piece, you can see it still appears as a separate piece, as well as a copied closed internal with the internals:
