Navigating the Optitex Shell Interface

The Optitex Shell application is dynamic according to the type of files you are opening: Marker files or PDS files. and the command you have chosen.

To open the Optitex Shell, double click on the Shell icon on your desktop.

The main screen displays:

The example below shows an example of a Marker file that was already added.

The main screen includes the following areas:

Main Menu

File

 

Add

Allows you to add files either MRK or PDS files.

New

Allows you to create a new file.

Open File in Marker

If you are opening Marker files, allows you to open the file directly in the Optitex Marker.

Run Batch File

If you have created a batch file allows you to run the batch file.

Copy List File to Excel

Allows you to copy the table to an Excel sheet.

 

Edit

 

Remove from List

If an item is selected in the table, removes the item from the list.

Clear List

Clears the entire table.

Select All

Selects all items in the table.

Invert Selection

If an item is selected, clears the selected item.

Search

Allows you to search through the list of items.

Stop Search

Stops an active search.

 

Commands

 

Marker Order

Allows you to setup the Marker order for PDS files via the Marker Order command.

Import

Allows you to import files from other applications via the Import command.

Update

Allows you to update a Marker file.

Nest

Allows you to nest your Marker files via the Nest command.

Export

Allows you to export the files via the Export command.

Plot

Allows you to plot the files via the Plot command.

Print

Allows you to print a copy via the Print command.

Report

Allows you to create an Excel report via the Report command.

Save

Allows you to save a copy of the file via the Save command.

Auto Change Notches Conditions

Allows you to define the auto changes for notches.

Multiple Marker Commands

Allows you to define multiple commands at once.

 

View

 

Toolbar

If selected, the toolbar will display.

Status Bar

If selected, the status bar will display.

Display Full File Name

If selected, the full file name will display including the location of the file.

Display Preview

If selected, the preview area will display so you can see a picture of the file (either PDS or Marker).

 

Options

 

Quiet Mode

Does not perform actions on the file, only displays the file information.

Save Batch File

Allows you to save a batch file so you can run it later on.

Auto Change Notches

Allows you to change the notches in the marker before nesting or plotting.

Column Settings

Allows you to modify the display of the columns.

Click to create a marker order from a style file.

Click to import a file from a different format.

Click to update a style file if the file was changed.

Click to nest.

Click to export the file to another format.

Click to plot.

Click to print a copy of the file information.

Click to create an Excel report.

Click to run the Multiple Marker command.

Click to search for a specific file.

Click to stop an active search.

Click to view in quiet mode.

Click to add the command to the batch file.
