Using the Draw Path Tool
Use the Draw Path tool to draft lines directly on the 3D Model.

To use the Draw Path tool:

Select the Draw Path tool.

Left-click on the model to create the first pin. Each pin represents a grading point.

Left-click to place the next pin. A line is created between two pins. The new pin is now highlighted

Hold Left Mouse Button and drag to change pin's position while placing it.

Press Delete to delete last created pin (the highlighted pin).

Press F to focus on Last created pin (the highlighted pin).

To create a closed shape snap to an existing pin or line.

Right-click to finish drafting.
Snap Options

The Draw Path tool automatically snaps to Tape Measure lines and Circumference Measure line.

The Draw path tool can also snap to center lines of Optitex models by holding the keys Ctrl+Shift while drawing. Once the point snaps it changes its color to blue.

The Draw path tool can also snap to mesh border lines (surface edges) of models. Hold the key SHIFT while LMB, then move the cursor toward the mesh border. Once the point snaps to an edge, its color changes to yellow.

The Draw Path tool automatically snaps to existing pins.

3D pins are maintained to the parametric avatar even when its body morphs. Note that the lines between the pins could slightly change their shape (you can adjust the lines using the Edit Pins Tool).
Default measurements with waist line draft
Increase body size with the same points (curves between the points when changed a bit)
Error Messages
-
3D Flattening Error: Unable to create the path. Please use more points.

The tool could not draw a line between the points you specified, try to place the next pin closer to the highlighted pin.

3D Flattening Error: Unable to draw path. Path has exceeded the boundary of the shape.

The tool cannot draw one line on two separated shapes. To unite the shapes (if possible) use the Weld command.
Keyboard Shortcuts

F - Focus on selected (highlighted) pin.

Ctrl - Navigate in 3D while using the Draw Path tool.

Ctrl+T - Show/Hide Textures

UP/Down Arrows - Scale Pin size

Shift - Snap to the Surface's border
