Set Baseline Perpendicular Direction Tool

You can use the Set Baseline Perpendicular Direction tool when you wan to change the direction of the baseline. Unlike the Set Baseline Direction tool, the new baseline created is perpendicular to the selected segment. This command is useful if the baseline was not digitized, or if two pieces were joined in a way that results in an oddly shaped piece. This tool places the current baseline inside the piece, and close to the center.

To use the Set Baseline Perpendicular Direction tool:

1. Select the Set Baseline Perpendicular Direction tool.
   
   

2. Select two points (existing or even non-existing) and with your mouse draw another baseline.
   
   The piece's baseline is created perpendicular to these points.
