Getting to Know the Toolbox

To the left of the Work Area you will find a tab labeled Toolbox.

Note: If you don’t see the Toolbox, go toView > Toolboxor press the 3 key on your keyboard.

In the Toolbox you will find all the tools designed to assist you in the pattern drafting and updating process. For your convenience, the different tools have been divided into groups according to their functionality. When you point to this tab, a box unfolds to reveal different tabs: Each of these tabs is labeled according to the functionality of the tools that it contains.

The Toolbox options are dynamic according to the layout profile you are using; therefore not all of the tools will be displayed.

There are two types of toolboxes:

Simplified Toolbox: This toolbox displays if you are in Simplified Profile mode, and offers more basic options. It does not include all the options and tools.

Advanced Toolbox: This toolbox displays if you are in Advanced Profile mode, and offers all the options and tools.

Note:If you want to change the toolbox for example from Simplified to Advanced, you just have to change the profile. For more information, see Viewing/Changing Your PDS Profile.

For your convenience, tools can be placed in different menus, i.e. My Favorite Tools. You can click + drag any tool under the Toolbox to place it in a menu you find convenient.
