Anatomy of a Piece

A piece is made out of different elements in PDS.

This topic describes these different elements.

Outside Contour : Each Piece consists of an outside line that is a closed shape, this is called the Contour. A Contour consists of 4 types of points:

  1. Grade, Non Curve

  2. Grade, Curve

  3. Non-Grade, Non-Curve

  4. Non-Grade, Curve

Internal Objects: A piece may have internal objects. These include piece information, internal drill holes, and internal lines.

  1. Baseline

  2. Darts

  3. Pleats

  4. Buttons/Drill Hole

  5. Notches

Other Piece Elements

  1. Seam Allowance

  2. Grading

  3. Mirror Line

  4. Symmetry

  5. Bubble Information
