Nvidia update and Photorealistic rendering

Optitex uses the latest Nvidia libraries.

As of version O/22 or later, it includes  support for the new Ada Lovelace and Hopper GPU architecture.
Further improvements are  rendering speed and quality.
Youwill need to updateyour Nvidiadrivers to version 526.67 or later.

Note: Important. Restart your computer after Nvidia driver upgrade. Launch PDS only after the restart.

Default rendering mode update

With the latest Nvidia card rendering speed improvements, the default 3d window rendering mode is set to Photorealistic,  instead of Interactive.
This will insure that what you see in the 3d window is what you get when rendering the final images.
Photorealistic mode performs complex recursive Raytracing, creating completely realistic 3d scene representation.
Interactive mode sacrifices quality for speed by performing some shortcuts.
You can still switch to the interactive mode by pressing “I” in the 3d window.

Maximum Image size increased

Recent generations of Nvidia graphics cards also allow increasing the  maximum image size for Photorealistic (Enhanced) rendering to 8k.
Note that higher than 2k renderers would still take longer than 1 minute, depending on the graphics card.
They should be used sparingly for high print generation only
.
O
n some older cards it may lead to “out of GPU memory” card error that would require PDS to restart.
