Pieces Substitute
You can use the Pieces Substitute option when you want to create new
markers with the same placement and layout as old markers. For example
if you create a marker for size large and you want to create another marker
for size small but keep the marker layout, you can just substitute the
pieces and keep the same marker layout.
When should you use 'Substitute' and when
should you use 'Update Style'?
-
If some changes were made to the original Style file (i.e. geometry was changed or even some pieces were added or deleted), you should use the 'Update Style' option.
-
If the same layout of the marker should be replaced by other sizes (most common case), or other pieces, you should use the 'Pieces Substitute' option.
