Mark Active Area

Use the Mark Active Area option when you want to limit the piece placement area on the marker table.

Note:

  • The active area is defined by bump lines placed on marker table. You must have at least one bump line present to be able to apply  this option.

  • The function only works with an existing style file already in Marker.

Location:

Menu > Marker > Mark Active Area

To Mark an active area for nesting:

  1. Open the Marker.

  2. Open Style File (Order)

  3. Make sure you have at least one bump line:

  4. On the main menu, go to Marker > Mark Active Area.

The mouse cursor changes into a magnifying glass.

  5. Set the active area by either clicking or by dragging a rectangle.

    • When clicking, the active area is determined by the bump lines closest to the clicked point.

    • When dragging, the active area is determined by the bump lines closest to the dragged rectangle.

  6. Once the active area is set, automatic nesting is limited to the specified area only. The marker table outside the active area is omitted during the nesting.

Note:

Manual piece placement is allowed outside the active area. Pieces placed outside the active area are displayed with no color filling.

The same appearance is applied to pieces outside the active area which were nested prior to the active area definition.

The no-fill appearance is not applied to pieces partially located outside the active area.

In addition to nesting, the active area takes effect when plotting. Plot (and  plot preview) are performed for the active area only. The marker table outside the active area is omitted.
