Global Internals Parameters

The Global Internal Parameters tool allows you to modify the attributes of all your internals of different types at once.

The dialog is dynamic according to the type of internals you have in your pattern, according to the selection you make in the dialog, and according to the attributes that are defined inside your pattern. For example, you can globally change all V notches that are Draw, to T notches and Cut.

It's important to remember if you make a change, but the system does not find anything that meets the criteria, then nothing will be changed.

Dialog Explanation

To use the Global Internal Parameters tool:

  1. Go to Piece > Internals > Global Internal Parameters

The Change Global Internal Parameters dialog is displayed.

Click on a section to expand and view how to perform each step.

  1. ClosedDefine the Selection Criteria.

In the Pieces area, decide which pieces you want to define criteria for. The following options are available:

All: You want to apply the change to all pieces that are inside the pattern.

All Sizes of Current: You want to apply the changes to all pieces of all sizes in the current style.

Selected Only: You want to apply the change only to the piece that is selected.

Select the type of internal you are looking for inside the pattern (according to how you defined in step 2): Notch, Pleat Notches, Dart Notches, Buttons, Dart Pivot Points, Contours, Circles, Lines and Arcs.

In the Notches area, decide if you want to look for the internal object on the External Contour, Internal Contour or All if you want to look all over.

In the Internals Sizes area, click Set, if you want to change the dimensions of the internal object you selected.

This field is dynamic according to the type of internal object you have selected:

Notch/Pleat/Dart: You can define the Depth, Width and Top Width of the notch.

Button/Circle: You can define the Radius.

Text: You can define the Size of the text.

Dart Pivot Point: You can define the Radius and Distance.

    Internal Contour: Disabled.

On the right hand side of the dialog, in the NotchesAngles area, if you want to change the angle for notches or text object, select the Set Angle checkbox, then enter the required angle.

Note: This option is not enabled for Buttons, Circles, Dart Pivot Points or Internal Contours.

If you have selected a pleat or dart and you want to control the location of the notch on the pleat/dart, in the Pleat/Dart Notches Direction area, select one of the following options:

Inside: If you want the notch to be located inside the contour.

Outside: If you want the notch to be located outside the contour.

  2. ClosedDefine the Required Changes

Now define the changes you want to make according to the search criteria and filters:

In the Current area, select the radio button of the cut/plot command you want to change: Draw, Cut, Drill, AuxDrill, Punch, Quality, Sew

    Or

Select None if you want to remove the cut/plot command that is already defined

    Or

Select None if you do not want a cut/plot command.

Select the radio button of the notch/dart type: T, V, I, L, U, Box or select All, if you want to change all types.

Select the radio button of the cut order command: Cut before the Piece, Cut with the Piece, Cut After the Piece, or select All if you want to change all the cut commands.

If you defined search criteria for Contours, in the Contours Filter area, define the contour as Non-Closed, Closed, or All, if you want to select all contours.

If you defined search criteria for Buttons/Circles, you can define a minimum/maximum radius or depth. In the Depth/Radius filter area, select the checkbox, then in the Use Minimal field, enter a minimum value, in the Use Maximal field, enter a maximum value.

If you want to change the layer, for example, from 1 to 2 for all the internal objects, from the Tool Number/Layer drop-down list, select the layer you want to change to, or select All if you want to make the change to internals located in all the layers.

  3. ClosedDefine the Attributes to Change

Now define the attributes you are changing. For example, if you selected Draw in the Current area and now you select Cut, all Draw commands will change to Cut commands after you apply the changes.

    1. Select which cut/plot command you are changing: Draw, Cut, Drill, AuxDrill, Punch, Quality, Sew. (These are dynamic according to the type of internal. For example, Punch is available for notches, but not for buttons.)

      Or

Select None, if you do not want to change the command at all.

      Or

Select No Change, if you want to leave the commands as are.

    2. If you are changing the notch type, select the notch type: T, V, I, L, U, Box or select No Change if you want to leave the notch type as is.

    3. Select the cut and plot time you are changing: Cut before the Piece,Cut with the Piece, Cut After the Piece, or select No Change, if you want to leave the cut command as is.

    4. If you searched for buttons/circles and you want to convert them, for example convert a circle to a button or vice versa, select Convert to Circle/Convert to Button (this is according to the internal object you selected), or select No Change if you want to leave the buttons/circles as are.

    5. If you searched for contours/circles and want to change the contour, for example from closed to non closed, in the To Contour area, define To Non Closed, To Closed, or To Hole (this is according to the internal object), or select No Change if you want to leave the contour/circle as is.

    6. If your pattern is defined with layers, you can make changes to internal objects that are located in a specific layer. From the Tool Number/Layer drop-down list, select the layer or click the No Change checkbox, if you want to make changes to all internal objects no matter which layer they are defined on.

  1. ClosedApply all Required Changes

    1. Once you are done defining the search criteria and global changes, click Apply.

This applies the changes only to those objects that meet the search criteria.

    2. Click Close to close the dialog.
