Find And Update

The main function of the find tab is to look for Marker files (.MRK) You can use additional search filters, such as Style Name, Piece Name, Piece Code, Piece Material, Piece Description, etc.

The Update Tab allows you to update all found markers which have pieces that were changed in the PDS, after uploading to the Marker. This allows you to update, replace and/or add a style file to a specified Marker file.

  • Menu: File>File Utilities>Find and Updates

  • Toolbar: System Tools

To find files:

  1. From the main menu, go to File > File Utilities > Find & Update.

    The Find & Update dialog appears: (the first tab is the Find tab)

  2. Define the filter criteria as follows:

    1. In the Look In field, click (Browse) and search for a location where Marker file are located.

    2. Select the Look in Subfolders checkbox, if you want to search inside all folders including sub-folders.

    3. If you are looking for a specific piece, from the Piece Name drop-down list, select the piece name.

    4. If you are looking for a specific piece by code, from the Piece Code drop-down list, select the piece code.

    5. If you are looking for a specific piece by description, from the Piece Description drop-down list, select the piece description.

    6. If you are looking for a specific piece by material, from the Piece Material drop-down list, select the piece material.

    7. If you are looking for a specific piece by style, from the Style Name drop-down list, select the style name.

    8. If you are looking for a specific style file, in the Style File field, click to browse for and select the style file you are looking for.

    9. Select the Match Case checkbox, if you want only results that contain the exact same case (upper and lower case letter) to appear.

    10. Select the Match whole word only checkbox, if you want only results that match the whole word to appear.

    11. In the Find area, select the Search for Pieces radio button if you want the results to only show pieces that were found

      OR

      Select the Search for File radio button, if you want the results to only show files that were found.

  3. Click Find Now to start searching for files that meet the defined search criteria.

    Once results are found you can do the following:

    1. Select the row of the piece/file.

    2. Click Delete, if you want to remove the piece/file from the Marker file.

    3. Click Update, if changes were made to the file in the PDS and you want to update the changes in the Marker file.

To update files:

  1. Select the Update tab.

  2. In the Source Piece area, click to browse for and select a Style File.

    If the style file contains sizes, a dialog appears showing you the available sizes.

    Once the file is loaded, all pieces are displayed in the grid and a preview of the piece appears in the preview area:

  3. Select any or all pieces to be updated in the Markers.

  4. Click Replace Piece, if you want to replace the selected piece with the piece that has the same name in the Marker file.

  5. Click Add Piece, if you want to add the selected piece to the Marker file.

  6. In the Update Mode for Seamed Pieces area, select the radio button of the lines you want to be included in the piece.

  7. In the Marker file area, select the row of the Marker file you want to update. You can select multiple rows, using Ctrl or Shift.

  8. When you are done, click Update.
