Defining Fabric Rolls Manually

To help you manage your fabric rolls in your warehouse, you can define your fabrics manually according to colors and materials and then provide details such as, width, length, cost, etc.

All of the options can either be accessed while standing on the Fabric folder, right-click menu, or from the Edit menu.

To define fabric rolls:

  1. From the CutPlan main menu, go to Edit > Fabric Rolls List.

The Fabric Rolls List dialog appears:

  1. To add a material, while standing on the Fabrics folder, right-click, then select Add Material as follows:

  1. Enter a name for the material, then press Enter.

Note: This name will be used when creating a cut order, so enter a meaningful name.

  1. To add a fabric, right-click then select Add Color as follows:

  1. Enter a name for the fabric, then press Enter.

  2. Enter the details of the fabric as follows:

Description

Roll Priority

This is an automatic field that is generated each time a row is added.

Roll Code

Enter the code of the fabric roll according to how it is defined in your inventory.

This is field is mandatory for setup.

Width, inch

Enter the width of the fabric roll either in centimeters or inches.

This is field is mandatory for setup.

Length, yard

Enter the length of the fabric roll either in meters or yards.

Note: The length is updated when the Fabric Weight is manually entered.

This is field is mandatory for setup.

Fabric Supplier

Enter the name of the supplier.

Cost, $/yard

Enter the cost of the fabric roll according to the currency and length unit.

Roll weight, lbs

Enter the weight of the fabric roll either in kilograms or pounds.

Fabric Weight, oz/sq. yard

This column is automatically calculated once you enter the length and roll weight. You can also manually enter the fabric weight if required. If you click on this field, a new row is added to the table.

Shrinkage Width %

Enter the shrinkage width of the material in a percentage. To allocate rolls, the system will group the relevant fabric according to its shrinkage parameters.

Shrinkage Length %

Enter the shrinkage length of the material in a percentage. To allocate rolls, the system will group the relevant fabric according to its shrinkage parameters.

Shade

Enter the shade of the material according to how it is defined. For example, enter A, B, C, D.

  1. If you want to quickly add information to the roll, you can copy and paste the roll's information and then make changes where needed.

  1. While standing on the row, right-click and then select Copy Roll.

  2. Stand on the new row, right-click and then select Paste Roll.

  3. Make changes where needed.

  1. Continue adding all the materials and fabrics according to the steps above.

  2. To save your Fabric Rolls list, go to File > Save.
