Defining Cost and Efficiency

In this step, you can select the type of algorithm you want to use to calculate and produce the best solution for your order.

Nesting is an algorithm that automatically places the pieces on the marker while providing the best optimization of your layout within a short amount of time. With automatic nesting you get the best efficiency of fabric usage to maximize production profit. Optitex provides three Nesting solutions: Standard (is free when purchasing the software) Nest++1, Nest++2 and the new Nest++2 Multicore Pro.

Note: CutPlan uses the nesting solutions you have available with your software; therefore your dialog may look different to the one used in the procedure below.

To define cost and efficiency:

  1. In the Cost and Efficiency dialog, define the following details:

  1. From the Set Algorithm drop-down list, select the required algorithm. For example, select Main Algorithm with Nesting.

This list is dynamic according to the Nesting solution you have with your software.

  1. In the Estimated Efficiency field, enter the efficiency of the solution you require in a percentage.

  2. In the Material Cost as Percentage of Overall Production Costs field, enter the cost of the material in relation to the overall production cost. For example, if you enter 60% this means that the cost of the material is 60% of 100% production.

  3. Select the Use Maximal Table Length checkbox, if you want to use the full length of the marker table when producing the solution.

  4. Click Start to start calculating a solution for your cut order.
